This is brewmaster and owner Tim Gallon adding fresh hops to our Harvest Hops Ale.   The hops were grown locally and added to the beer within hours of picking.  “I take every chance I get to incorporate something local into the beer.  This is what makes a local brewery so special.”

Black Bear Microbrewery is an independently, family owned distributing microbrewery. Our beers are available on draft at many bars and restaurants across the state of Maine.

Located in the center of downtown at 19 Mill St. Orono, Maine, we installed a 10bbl brewhouse in 2007 and began operation in 2008.  At the brewery, we retail all our products in growlers and select beers in 22oz bottles. Get directions to the brewery and come by for a tasting or just to pick up some beer!
