A big, bold, American-style barleywine just makes you think of Fall and Winter in Maine. In honor of our Maine logging tradition and protecting our beautiful Maine landscape we would like to raise a glass and toast you all with a snifter of “Tree Tugger” Barleywine.
Barleywine is simply a big (or wine strength) beer, it isn’t made with any grapes. The Tree Tugger has huge late and dry hop additions and is firmly bitter. With a high alcohol content there is a sweet malty character but the finish is dry enough to enjoy another sip. Serve this beer is a tulip shaped glass like a snifter at 50-55ºF. This beer will overpower most main dishes but goes great with strong flavored cheese or rich desserts like a caramel cheese cake – Mmmmm!
